Duw Genes is a visual exploration of my inner process of remembering. Through mixed media art, my personal photography collection, destruction, and reconstruction, I have created this visual art project that encompases my memories.

The name of the project translates to “goodbye” from the Cornish language. I spent three years in Cornwall growing as a person in all possible aspects. Suddenly three years had gone by and I was leaving the life I had built, the place that had been my home. It took me a while to get used to this change. I kept talking of my life in Cornwall in present tense. What once was and what I ​​​​knew best, had become this reappearing ghost in my life. Nonexistent, yet there.​ ​I wanted to paste together these fragmented memories visually. Make this ghost alive again. I do not think I will ever live in Cornwall again but I got to grow up there, and I cherish it for that. Duw genes Kernow!
